If, as Scripture teaches, love is of God and God is love and His love is manifested through His children, then it is safe to say that we are the vessels through whom His love is demonstrated. First John 4:12 tells us how to demonstrate outwardly the love of God within us. It says, "No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us."
If you want to demonstrate true characteristics of God's love, you can challenge yourself to obtain the gems of love listed below:
*Limitless: God's love is limitless and life giving. He loves the drunkard and the murderer just as much as He loves the saint. His love is light as it reflects hope and kindness, and it makes us lively in Him. Our loveliness stems from our knowledge of His almighty presence within us.
*Omnipotent: God is all-powerful, and His love is omnipotent. This means that the power of God's love can heal the deepest hurt, forgive the greatest sin, and build bridges that only His love can build. When we let God's omnipotent love control our lives, we will forgive when we don't want to forgive. We will love those we don't want to love.
*Valuable: God's love also makes us valuable to the Lord. As a matter of fact, we were so valuable to God that He gave Jesus for our sins. In God's eyes, we are precious and worth paying for-with the price of His Son's life. I pray that you will recognize your worth as a child of God. You are very valuable to His Kingdom work.
*Eternal: God's love for us is eternal. He will never stop loving us. We never need to fear the day that God says, "My love for you ends today." Eternal means time with no end. Can you say you possess this eternal love for others? Ask God for it!
God's love is truly limitless (no boundaries), omnipotent (all-powerful), valuable, and eternal in all our lives-now and for all time. Which revelation of God's character do you find that you need more of in your understanding of love?
