By the time you all read this article, I will be in Hawaii with part of New Desire Christian Ministries (Dan, Labron, Brooke, Caleb, Janice and Brooke’s parents). We will be from the streets to churches. My heart is filled with joy at the opportunity given to us by the Lord. However, everyone’s first response to this trip has been, “Hawaii...WOW! That is where I would love to go for a mission trip.” I know they mean well and everyone sees the beauty and pleasure of this wonderful state. It is all of the above. However, from the eyes of God, He sees the need for the Gospel to be spread into the hearts and lives of hurting and unsaved people. Yes, these type of people exist everywhere...ALL OVER THE WORLD! God assigned New Desire to this field. We desire your prayers.

As we enter this mission field, we prayed for God to get His Gospel out through us into the highways and the hedges, the churched and the unchurched, the pagans, the heathens and to His bride, the church, the body of Christ. James 2:1-4 teaches us the importance of being unbiased when it comes to being effective in His work. It says, “For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; and ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, sit those here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?”

My heart longs to show nothing but unconditional love to every class, race and nation of people. In these verses we are exhorted to show absolutely no partiality when it comes to ministering the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Please pray that New Desire will reach out with God’s unconditional love to every person He places before us. Oh God,let us not show partiality.

This state if filled with pagan religions, and we have our work cut out for us. On behalf of all of New Desire, I can say that we all desire your prayers. God has laid specifics on my heart to ask you to enter into the throne room with. As you are praying specifically, we will be on a street corner ministering to the homeless or in a correctional facility training those up in the truth of God’s Word, or standing in malls sharing through song and testimony. We will also be walking the beaches having special services right among those sun bathing or in a church building giving hope to the families attending or doing women/young girls/family conferences.

There is always that inner thought of “Will they receive the Gospel, will they stone us, mock us or are their hearts ready to hear?” Therefore, our list of specific prayers are stated below:

  • Boldness with humility
  • Compassion
  • Strength (both Spiritual and physical)
  • Wisdom
  • New Desire’s finances
  • Souls to be saved
  • Lives to be changed FOREVER
  • New Desire’s focus to be only on the Gospel, Spiritual, and physical needs of those we are ministering to
  • Hearts to be receptive
  • Effectiveness as we teach and sing
  • The Anointing of the Holy Spirit to be upon us

From my heart to yours, I’d like to ask that if we come to your thoughts throughout your day, would you intercede for us for these things? As you specifically pray, then we can go out in power knowing that someone is standing in the gap on our behalf while we are about the Father’s business. I appreciate your love and support in this matter.

Please check the website and New Desire’s Facebook for updates and video clips throughout the next two weeks. I hesitated in writing this piece. Satan hindered me for a moment or two with words like, “They will not pray, they think this is a vacation not a true missions trip, they are too busy with their own circumstances to pray for New Desire.” I refused to listen and I chose to obey the voice of God. Thus, I labored in much prayer over the the birth of this article. 

 We truly desire your prayers. I love you all with the love of Jesus.
