From The Heart
The Lord is Good
by Dr. Brenda Robinson
Scripture Reading: Psalm 34:8
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
I can only come to you this week with a heart of praise and thankfulness. I have literally tasted the goodness of the Lord just in the past 72 hours of this week.
Everything that could come against me personally and New Desire Christian Ministries has hit us. After a long weekend of travelling the roads sharing the Gospel and many lives being changed, the enemy is mad.
The attack began Monday morning in the office when the heat would not turn on. The next attack was through a phone call from our son Kevin. He was very sick and needed to be taken to the doctor. The next attack was one ministry opposition after another. Needless to say, I stayed in prayer all day as I maneuvered my way through every circumstance under God’s leadership.
For every dart of the enemy, I tasted the goodness of the Lord. My flesh faltered a time or two but with every satanic blow, God was fighting for me, the ministry, and my family. My son Kevin was diagnosed with and medicated for severe vertigo. The motor on our central heat unit was broken. It was going to cost approximately $300 to repair. Dan repaired it himself and it cost us nothing. The Lord is good!
The final blow was our son Labron being sent to Emory to see a specialist for his incurable blood disease. My prayers went up all night for God to heal my son of his pain. I prayed for God to give us answers through this visit to the doctor, the answers we’ve waited almost 3 years for.
The Lord is good! We tasted of his goodness as Labron, Brooke, and I listened as this specialist confirmed that Labron does have the disease and he is going to have severe pain. God supped with us as we were reassured that this disease cannot take his life. The doctor said, “Let us thank God for this pain that revealed your hereditary blood disease at an early age. Catching it this soon, you will never have to worry about it turning into liver cancer or cirrhosis of the liver.” He told us that the pain will eventually subside as Labron continues to have blood drawn periodically to remove the excess iron. “O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”
There is much more that happened that I choose to keep between the Lord and me. From my heart to yours, I pray that you will taste the goodness of the Lord by placing your trust in Him. The goodness of the Lord is available to all who will call upon Him. To those who will not call upon Him, His mercies are upon you.
