Lights of Home

Scripture Reading: Revelation 21:23

And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

Well friends, my heart is full and my cup runneth over. I will have been on the road for approximately eleven days and covered six states in ministry work before the lights of home draw near. I am not complaining. I feel so blessed to serve God.

I am often asked many diverse questions about what we do, why we do it, and if I feel guilty having to be gone from my family. I miss my children and my siblings terribly as New Desire travels from state to state. I sometimes feel empty and alone inside even though I travel with my husband, one of our sons, his wife and our grandson.

You see, evangelism is one of those sacrificial appointments God has designed me for and leaving our other son, his wife, and our granddaughter behind is part of the sacrifice. When I get an empty and alone feeling, my son or one of my sisters will call just to say “I love you.” God is faithful to remind them that we need to hear their voice. When my phone rings, it is like seeing the lights of home as their name appears on my LCD screen. When I hear their voice on the other end it is like every light in my heart starts flashing the word love.

When the question is asked, “Why do you do this?” my answer is that God has chosen me for this great work, and I know that when I see the lights of my eternal home there is laid up for me a crown of life. In this world our “life is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time and then vanisheth away.” (James 4:14), but in my eternal home is life everlasting, love unconditional, and a place where I will worship my Savior for all eternity around the throne.

From my heart to yours, I pray that you have found or will seek God for your assignment here on earth. I pray that you have received Christ as your Savior so that we can enjoy the lights of home together.

I Just Love Jesus,

Dr. Brenda J. Robinson

My Sweet Mrs. Brenda! You are such a blessing to me and Iam so glad that God allowed our lives to cross many years ago. About 14 to be exact. I can remember til this day meeting you for the first time and how an instant love for you started. You were a blessing then and you still are to me now. I know time has away of getting in the way, but not one day goes by that I don't think of you. I connected with this article and I know exactly how you feel. I get to missing you something terrible and I will listen to your cd's or watch the video I made to remember the good times we've shared. You have a special place in my heart that only you can fill. I love you more than you know. I know your road gets long and tiring, but what a blessing you all are to so many.
