Scripture Reading: Psalms 100:4

So many of us have complaints, ailments and battles that distract us from being thankful for our lives, homes, families and most of all the love of God. Most of us stay focused on the "what ifs" rather than the "what is."

Life could be much worse than what it is regardless of our circumstances. There is always someone who lives in worse conditions than which we live. We just need to look around at others and their lives and we will say, "I am blessed."

Our Scripture text teaches us how to live a life of Thanksgiving. It says, "to enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise." When we enter into the presence of the Lord with a thankful heart we will automatically praise Him. The two go hand in hand. God is faithful to His people. He longs for us to give Him honor and to bless His name. Without God we would have nothing, we would be nothing and we would never experience the joy of Jesus and the love that He has for all.

I know that my heart is full of thanksgiving. I look around me several times a day and I see God's fingerprint upon every area of my life. I hear His voice of instruction and direction. I feel His presence of comfort, love and conviction. I see His hand of healing, and I love to sing His praises of victory.

I truly live a life of thanksgiving, and from my heart to yours, I ask that you stop each day and look around at all the goodness of God in your life. I pray that your hearts will be filled with praise and thanksgiving rather than complaints and bitterness.

God is waiting for you to be "thankful unto Him, and to bless His name."
