From The Heart
Life Goes On
by Dr. Brenda Robinson
Scripture Reading: John 5:8-9
Jesus saith unto him, Rise , take up thy bed, and walk . And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
As I was sitting in a diagnostics center a few days ago waiting to have an x-ray, I began to watch the busyness of the patients and the staff in the facility. Others around me were waiting for their x-ray, MRI, CT Scan, etc. The things that caught my attention and triggered the thought, "Life Goes On" were several people with different pains and disabilities.
There was an elderly lady in severe knee pain whose husband was with her in a wheelchair with only one leg. I noticed as a technician called a name that the patient had an oxygen tank, a walker, and a cast on one arm. As his name was called, he scurried with all his energy to follow the technician. I watched as they disappeared down the hall and caught a glimpse of what I assumed would be a young boy that appeared to be in his pre-teens being led down the hall by his mother. This young lad had no hair and looked very frail and fragile. I then heard his mom tell his dad that the tumor was still on their son's brain, but they had to keep believing that the chemo was going to shrink it.
I have shared all of this to encourage you all that "Life Goes On" in spite of your circumstances. I watched all these people around me struggling with their ailments, diseases, and disabilities, yet they were determined to carry on.
Our Scripture text tells us to "rise, take up thy bed, and walk." These people's beds were their crutches, walkers, wheelchairs, oxygen tanks, etc. When their names were called, they rose up and went.
God wants all of us to trust in Him and put forth an effort regardless of what the battle may be. When you feel like the man laying by the pool with no one to help, remember God will help you. Life goes on with Him.
In our efforts to get up and move forward, Jesus will make us whole. Verse 9 says, "And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath."
From my heart to yours, I pray that your life goes on with God on a moment by moment basis. I pray that you will put forth the effort to get up and move on with God in your heart by being constantly Christ-minded, thinking about Him, trusting in Him, and loving Him in the hardest of times. Remember, Jesus gave His life for you to be able to say "Life Goes On!"

Sis. Brenda, (& all of "New Desire") Thank you for the encouragement! You are right life does go on! Some times we think we have it rough, then we see some one with a heavier burden than ours and we realize we don't have it quite as bad as we thought. Mrs. Brenda, thank you for your faithfulness to keep on going even though you have had severe health problems. You do not know what a blessing you are! We pray daily for you and the ministry and also for Lebron. We don't know why these things happen but we just trust God and leave the things we don't understand to Him. We sure do love you all and thank God for your needed ministry. I know there are many that are encouraged and strengthened after they learn of your story and how God brought you through all of the difficulties you have been through. Keep on keepin' on and thank you for the blessing and difference you have made in our lives. We love you and all of "New Desire"!!!! God bless, Brother Steve and family.
Bro.Steve, Thanks so much for the encouraging words. You are correct, we can always find someone else whose problems are greater than ours. People are hurting everywhere. they need the love of Jesus and we long to give Him to them. Therefore, we will continue on!! We love you, Laura and all of your beautiful children. We appreciate your love for this ministry and your prayers. Our prayers are with you all. Thanks for being a blessing to New Desire and for loving us. I Just Love Jesus
This was so true, every time I feel that I can't go on I remember my patients they are the ones who are really sick and dying..I have some problems but not like they have....I found out today along with everything else going on that my brother is truly sick and I can't begin to pronouce the word but there is no cure for it..It's a lung disease and I have talked to you about it but we have the results now.The doctors say that there is nothing really that they can do that it is in God's hands..He might start doing clinicals study on it I am not sure and they may put him on a lung transplant list not sure of that yet either but I do know that our God is a big God and that He can take care of this situation..They said 3 yrs would be excellent and thats if the desease dont go any faster..It really is scary, I see this sort of thing every day with what I do for a living but when it hits home that is a different story...Please remember him in yall's prayers....Love you all very much...
I look at All that You and New Desire has been through and I am So Overwhelmed, but I know that YOU ALL know that He has a "PLAN", and His ways are "PERFECT";We may not understand it,but if we could see others Like You All Keep on Keeping on for Jesus, then We Will Be Victorious Thanks Brenda and New Desire for the Example and Encouragement you all have given me I love you all MORE than you will ever know
