Scripture Reading: I Corinthians 15:58

I had posted on New Desire’s Facebook status a few days ago the importance of being an “all the time Christian” rather than a “some of the time Christian.” In the Scripture text above, Paul was finding it very difficult to keep Corinth out of the church. The pagan lifestyle of Corinth had a profound effect on the Christians in such a corrupt city. Problems and confusion of every kind was coming at the church (the body of believers).

Paul was exhorting them to flee the influence of Corinth and to remain “stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.”

Paul was concerned about their instability as born again believers. They were swaying to and fro in their relationship to God. They were sometimes in Corinth, they were sometimes active in the church. It is important to understand that Paul uses two strong words in our Scripture text that will keep us “All the time” Christians; stedfast and unmoveable.

Stedfast will keep you an all the time Christian if you apply its definition. It means to be firm, persistent and determined in one’s endeavors. Unmoveable means to be firmly rooted and stable in all your responsibilities. If you are rooted and firmly planted in your love for Christ and His love for you, you will overcome the “sometimes Christian” mentality.

Friends, from my heart to yours, I plead with you to search your heart, your love for God and stability as someone who carries a title of royalty. Every born again Christian represents Jesus Christ and He is an ALL THE TIME SAVIOR who is stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work to make you more like Him all the time.
