From The Heart
Addicted

Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 16:15b
...that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints.
Have you ever considered the definition of the word addicted that is mentioned in the Scripture in 1 Corinthians 16:15b? It means to have to have your “fix”. It leaves us with the perception that you can’t live without your addiction. Therefore, Paul is teaching the church at Corinth that their service to God and love for Jesus Christ should be an addiction, a fix that they have to have every day. Paul tells us in the Scripture that we should be addicted to the ministry of the saints. Verse 16 also urges us to submit ourselves unto each and every one that helps us in labor of the Gospel.
In our flesh we battle many addictions such as alcohol, drugs, socialism, filthy provocative addictions such as pornography and adultery, etc. In the world that we live in, we justify these addictions by saying “everybody does it so that makes it right”. These addictions are completely opposite from what our Scripture text is referring to. The addictions spoken of in 2 Corinthians 16 are holy addictions that give God all the honor, glory and praise. The rest of this chapter tells us that we are to be addicted to demonstrating unconditional love, submitting to the needs of others, laboring in service, and sacrificing our time, talents and offerings.
From my heart to yours I want you to know that I love you and I am addicted to ministering to you. My heart is to minister the love of Jesus, salvation and eternal life through Jesus Christ. I would also like to challenge you to survey your life and come to grips with your fleshly addictions. Confess them to God and watch how quickly you fall in love with the Lover of your soul. Then you too can move forward with a new addiction for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
I would love feedback from you on this subject. You can comment below this article. Only your first name will show up. I would love to pray for whatever addiction you have in your life that hinders you from being all you can be in God’s Kingdom work.
I Just Love Jesus,
