Wonderful Counsellor
by Dr. Brenda Robinson
Scripture Reading: Isaiah 9:6
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
If satan can get you focused on the effects the world has had on you, such as stress, your troubles, your wants, even your success or accomplishments, your rejections, your past, your failures, etc., you will feel like you can never change. Satan will have you feeling one of two ways. You will feel either that the world has been too good to you to change now or that it has been too hard on you to change now.
The decision is yours. God wants to change your life to one you will not even recognize. How bad do you want a relationship with the Lover of your soul? Are you to the point that you cannot fight the battles anymore? Are you haunted by your past? Are you depressed or hurting? Perhaps you are very successful but still feel an emptiness. My friend, God can reverse the effects of your life. He can take what you see as failure and use it as testimony and fruitfulness for His Kingdom work.
If you are realizing there has to be more to life than what you have experienced or are experiencing, then you are ready for God to change your life. You are ready for God to be the center of your life above all others. That is His will for your life and it comes with blessings and benefits that will see you through the hardest of times. You will know without a doubt that He is your ultimate counselor that never leaves you. His Word will be your guide book and His voice in your darkest hour. He will be your world and nothing will be able to shake you. Isaiah 9:6 describes Him like this, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
