Types of Prayer
by Dr. Brenda Robinson
Scripture Reading: Mark 11:24
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
For the next few days, I want to share with you the elements of four different types of prayers. Together, we will learn how and when to apply each type of prayer to make our lives for Christ flourish. Regardless of the type of prayer, today's Scripture text tells us what makes each effective. It says, "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them."
So often, we live a defeated Christian life because of our insecurities about doing things right in the eyes of God. Do we witness, study, and pray correctly? We see in our Scripture text for today that an effective prayer life is the key to overcoming and achieving all things in our Christian walk.
We need to learn to be like Nehemiah. We need to overcome our doubts and insecurities about whether or not we're praying correctly. God hears and answers every prayer of faith. He may not answer the way we want Him to, but He answers nevertheless.
There are four types of prayer. They are systematic prayer, spontaneous prayer, specific prayer and serious prayer. Neither one of these types of prayer is more effective than the others. They're all effective when they're prayed in faith. Let's learn about each type so we can have more confidence in our prayers.
"An effective prayer life is the key to overcoming and achieving all things in our Christian walk."

Brenda, thank you for doing a study on this. This is what we're studying in our women's ministry at the moment. We're talking about how we need to stay in the Word. Thank you for again.
