A Time of Renewal
by Dan Robinson
Scripture Reading: Romans 12:2
"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
As you read this article, you may find yourself unsatisfied or often displeased with the condition of your spiritual life. Maybe you've lost your "pizzazz" and tend to seclude yourself from family and friends. Maybe you're missing the joy that once filled your life and you don't understand why.
Stop and ask yourself, "Where am I with the Lord?" In Romans 12:2, we learn not to be conformed to this world as simple as it is to do. Our eyes are the windows to our soul. In accordance, what we listen to, watch and all the activities we participate in have a direct effect on our spiritual life.
We are pressured everyday to conform to the "mold" of the world and to "go with the flow." So many people are so aimlessly trapped in this mode of life and don't realize that they are the only ones restricting their progress.
Romans instructs us to be transformed (to change or alter completely in nature) by the renewing (to restore) of our minds so that we may be the effective Christians Christ intended us to be. To renew our minds, we must sacrifice and devote our time to the studying of the Word of God. By studying our Bibles daily in depth, we are removing any barriers that may be restricting our progress with God. After we have become members with Christ, we are a new creature completely. All former things pass away and EVERYTHING becomes new.
Today and every day, God's mercy is fresh. He provides us a golden opportunity each morning to reboot, recharge and restart our life's dedication to His service so that we may prove the perfect will of God.

Brother Dan, Thank you so much for this devotion. It is truly what I needed. At the women's conference on Saturday, renewing my mind was the last message I received. I don't read and study my Bible everyday, but since Saturday and now reading your devotion, I am going to do better. Thanks again for all that your family means to me. This was just the kick start I needed.
