Thanksgiving
by Brooke Cason
Scripture Reading: Psalm 100:4
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
What's the first thoughts we usually have when we think about Thanksgiving? It could be some of the following:
- The smell of turkey and dressing
- All of those desserts you'll get to eat
- Maybe it's the dread of all those places you have to go
I have tried to train my mind this week to think about all the things that truly matter and all of those things I'm truly thankful for.
- My salvation
- My family
- My calling
- His faithfulness
- All His promises
- His provision
- The health of my family
- Our home
- The special time we get to spend with our family
This list could go on and on! God has truly blessed my life, and I'm so undeserving but He continues to show me His love! I'm so thankful for the life and the many blessings He's bestowed upon my life.
So often, I find myself focusing on the negatives. My flesh is so weak, but I'm taking the "POSITIVE CHALLENGE." I'm making myself focus on all the positives in my life. The positives by far outweigh the negatives.
What will you choose today? Will you focus on the positives or all of the negatives? God is the God of positivity! Be thankful and count your blessings! 'Tis the season to be THANKFUL…all the days of our lives.
