Let the Salt Heal
by Brooke Cason
Scripture Reading: Matthew 5:13
"Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savor, where with shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out and to be trodden under foot of men."
I absolutely love this Scripture. I read it often because I need to be reminded that as a born-again believer I am "salt of the earth." Jesus Christ lives in my heart and as long as He allows me to live on earth, I have a job to do and as salt I can help meet the needs of the world. There are so many things that salt can do. We all know it adds flavor, it preserves, it melts coldness, and my favorite….IT HEALS!
If, as Christians, we could completely grasp this, it would change our walk, talk and actions. We can do all of these things as the salt. My heart is to help melt the hearts of those who are cold and have turned their backs on God, and to be the salt that could share some healing words or pray for those who need Spiritual healing. God is an amazing God who wants to know that we are willing to help others in ways that He reveals to us! He wants obedience! We, as born-again believers, can be the salt that can be used to point those hurting souls to eh ONE who will add flavor to someone's "tasteless" life, preserve those for an eternity that needs a personal Savior, melt that heart who has grown cold, or heal that heart who has been wounded.
It's time as Christians that we step up to the place and fulfill our duties….help others to the CROSS!
