Knowing the Enemy Continued
by Dr. Brenda Robinson
Scripture Reading: John 10:10b
“I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
As we studied in our previous devotional on getting to know our enemy, I think we can all face the fact that it is not as difficult as we make it. The Scriptures say that our enemy is a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Based on what we have learned about him and how he engages us in battle, our next question is “What is hindering us from the abundant life that our Scripture text speaks about?”
In other words, what has satan stolen from you? The first two things he wants are your peace and joy. If he gets those, he has you in mass confusion. Review the following and determine which ones satan has stolen.
- Peace
- Joy
- Relationship
- Child
- Marriage
- Financial Stability
In what way is the enemy seeking to kill you, now or in the past?
- Physical
- Mental
- Emotional
- Financial
- Spiritual
Satan wants to destroy your spiritual example, your faith in God, the truth of your position as a child of God, the power you possess because you belong to God and your confidence in God and in yourself. If satan can accomplish these things in your life, then he will win the warfare. However, our victory is found in our Scripture text. We can have life more abundantly because we have been made more than conquerors through Him.
