I John 1:5-7 “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”

Do you ever feel like you are surrounded by darkness? It seems that life is dealing you a bad hand, everything that could go wrong is going wrong, one battle after another, etc. There is one thing that we must realize…God is not darkness. You don’t have to live in darkness as long as you have Christ as your Savior. He is the LIGHT! From what I know about light, it only takes a little bit of light to dispel darkness.

We can walk in the light and have fellowship in Him as long as we stay focused. But if we are walking in darkness we are walking in sin. If we claim to have a close relationship with God, but our life is not showing the results of a close relationship, then we may not be in the light or even a part of the Light. It is our duty as believers-a joyful duty- to walk in perfect obedience to God’s will, counting it a privilege to be a child of God through faith in the shed blood of His only begotten Son.

Are you walking in the Light or are you walking in darkness pretending to be in the Light? Don’t worry about what others think you are, but worry about what God sees from the inside-out!
