He's Alive

Scripture Reading: Matthew 27:19
“When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him."
The crucifixion was over. Jesus was now in the tomb. All who had crucified Him were celebrating His death. Those who walked with Him and served Him were devastated and grieving. How could there be such happiness in those who tortured Him, while at the same time those who loved Him did not know what to do with themselves or which way to turn?
The answer to the question lies in the fact that where grace abounds, sin also abounds. Jesus was blameless and faultless, yet the Jews and their accusers were full of sin and their own self-righteousness. They could not compete with the truth Jesus was communicating to those under their rule. Their laws condemned man. Jesus’ truth released people from the law and man-made ordinances.
Jesus’ teachings were contradictory to the Jew’s 1,500 plus laws and commandments. However, in the time of beating, even the wife of Pontius Pilate warned him to have nothing to do with this crucifixion. Our Scripture text reveals her warning. “When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him." The wife of this ruler could not stop the politics that were involved in what had to take place for you and me to have forgiveness of sin and eternal life.
The process of death for Christ was carried out. He suffered many things, yet they could not take His life. Jesus freely gave up the Ghost. Three days later they found Him missing from the tomb. He sent Mary to tell them He was alive and to meet Him in the upper room. Friends, Jesus is alive! The grave could not hold Him, but your heart can. Is He alive in you today?
