Growing in the Lord

Scripture Reading: I Peter 2:2-3
“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.”
As we come to the close of this year, I would like for us to take a few minutes to review all of the spiritual indicators that we reviewed throughout the year. Keep in mind that these indicators are not necessarily something we can do to get closer to the Lord. However, they will be evident in our life if we are growing closer to the Lord.
- Are you increasing or decreasing?
- Do you have true repentance?
- Do you find yourself spending more time studying the Word of God?
- Do you sense your faith is growing stronger?
- Are you experiencing an increasing awareness of God’s presence?
- Do you see trials and temptations as opportunities for growth?
- Is your desire to obey God becoming more intense while other things in your life are becoming less desirable and attractive?
- Do you desire to spend more time in genuine praise and worship?
- Are you still able to rejoice as your spiritual battles become stronger?
- Are you eager to share what Christ is doing in your life?
- Do you view your service for God as a high honor and not a burden?
- Do you prefer to spend more time with God above all others?
Based on the above list, are there indications in your life that you are growing closer to the Lord?
