God Wants Your FACE in His BOOK
by Brooke Cason
Scripture Reading: Ecclesiastes 8:1-6
"WHO is as the wise man? And who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man's wisdom maketh his face to sine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed. I counsel thee to keep the king's commandment, and that in regard of the oath of God..."
Technology has made it so easy to find those you went to school with, keep up with what's going on in other's lives, etc. It has also became a tactic that Satan uses as a distraction in our lives. So many people spend way too much time on the internet (not work related), texting, talking on cell phones and posting/reading on Facebook. I have been so amazed by what people say and share on Facebook. Some people are on there so much that I begin to wonder how they keep a job, drive a car and get anywhere safely, have a decent marriage or spend time with their kids.
When I first signed up for Facebook, I didn't realize how enticing and time consuming it could be. I caught myself spending more time reading, playing, and messaging than I was spending with Labron and Caleb. I was so convicted about it, and now I may get on once a week. It was almost as if God said to me "CAUTION! CAUTION! You could be spending time in My WORD. You could be spending quality time learning about me instead of being nosey and wanting to know what's going on with everybody else. You're about to allow satan room in your marriage. Wake up!" I could literally hear this. I also observed those around me and it was happening to them too.
When a friend text me this church sign, it confirmed God's voice to me…"God wants your FACE in His BOOK!" WOW!!! That speaks volumes! It's amazing how, when you fill your mind with His Word, things look brighter and more positive.
I challenge you to spend time with God. Spend less time with your technological connections to the world. Not everyone needs to know all your personal business. I think Facebook or any other site like it can be great if used with good intentions. Lift one another up. Don't have battles for the world to see. It's not a place to lash out at family members who you don't agree with, or a place to share your marital problems with the world, nor is it a place to bad mouth people.
Try laying aside your computer and cell phone and spend time with your family in the evenings. It has worked for my family. I love it. Seek to please God and remember there is judgment for every purpose as the Scripture says.
Eccl 8:1-6 "WHO is as the wise man? And who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man's wisdom maketh his face to sine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed. I counsel thee to keep the king's commandment, and that in regard of the oath of God. Be not hasty to go out of his sight: stand not in an evil thing; for he doeth whatsoever pleaseth him. Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou? Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment. Because to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man is great upon him."
