Scripture Reading: James 1:13

“Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: but every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed...

We forget the principle of God’s Word where it says that satan is prince of the power of the air. He even turns his angels into ministers of righteousness. When temptation comes, it is birthed from the evil of man’s heart and the power of the enemy. What is going on in your life that makes you question and feel disappointed in God? What is it that the enemy and your flesh has used to shatter your confidence in the promises and provision of God?

There are many examples in the Bible where we wonder why God would permit such tragic and devastating circumstances. However, if we study long enough we can see the whole picture. Every man is tempted. For example, the trying of Job’s faith, the troubled marriage of Abigail and Nabal, the betrayal of Samson by Delilah or the fourteen year struggle for Jacob to win Rachel as his bride when he was promised her only after seven years of labor. Laban, the father of Rachel and Leah was the seed of deception in the whole story.  The list goes on and on. The point of it all is that where God is, satan abounds. Nabal was the seed of satan; Delilah was satan’s weapon in Samson’s life. Judas was the evil and betraying seed to Jesus Christ. The one who fed, loved and protected Judas was the one he sold for thirty pieces of silver. Thus, the reason it appears that God is to blame is because we forget we have an enemy. I can assure you that if you are striving to live for the Lord, the enemy is out to get you.

What is going on in your life that makes you question and feel disappointed in God?
