Scripture Reading: II Timothy 2:3-4

“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.”

Somehow we get it in our minds that if we will get saved, start going to church and tithe that everything is going to be alright and we will never have any problems.  Let me ask you this. Did the devil bother you before you got saved? No, he did not have to because he already had you.

Do you know when your spiritual warfare began? When you got saved by God’s amazing grace. I feel like telling people when they get up from the altar, “You are in the army now.” Remember our Scripture says “Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.” Brother, the devil knows that he cannot do anything to you if he does not get God’s divine approval. Satan went before God about His servant Job. God asked satan, “Hast thou considered my servant Job...?” The devil said, “I cannot mess with him; you have a hedge about him” (Job 1:9-12).  The devil knows he cannot harm us. He cannot cause storms in our life without the sovereign approval of our Heavenly Father.

To deal with the affairs of life, we must endure hardness like a good soldier. What are the affairs of life that are before you?
