What a Weekend
by Brooke Cason
Man did New Desire have a busy but exciting weekend. We pulled out Thursday night. Drove most of the night and into the morning. We stopped for a few hours to sleep then back on the road headed to Virginia. We sang at the Waterlick singing. We haven't been in a long time and it was nice to be back. We got to see a lot of people that we haven't seen in years. It felt like a family reunion. We enjoyed ourselves and God was so in that place. We always love going to this singing because the liberty is amazing. We are able to minister with complete liberty. Thank you for inviting us back Bro. Larry. We hope it's not that long again!
We left as soon as we could after the singing and headed back to Alabama to get ready for Hope's Journey's Anniversary singing at Hill Crest Baptist Church in Anniston. We literally drove all night and most of the morning. We finally arrived at the church at 10:00 AM and we straight to sleep for a few hours. We were so exhausted, but the singing was so Spirit filled that it lifted us up and energized us. Labron got to preaching during the middle of "He Will Hide Me." I love to see him get wrapped up in the Spirit and his obedience was wonderful. The Lord used him to minister to the hearts of the people. All the groups did great. Josh and Ashley Franks, Hope's Journey and the Diplomats were all there as well as New Desire. It was a wonderful night in the Lord. Thank you Vonda for asking us to be a part of your anniversary singing.
We packed up and headed back out for Moody, AL to sing for a homecoming at Lighthouse Baptist Church on Sunday morning. Another great service. The Spirit just flowed over from Saturday's service. I love it when I can feel the Spirit through every song sung, every word spoken and every prayer prayed. Dan delivered a wonderful message too. God used him in a mighty way.
When we left Lighthouse, we went to the hospital to visit with a dear family to our ministry. We stayed for a while then headed home. We are all exhausted this morning, but we are basking in the love of Jesus Christ. He is our strength and our place of refuge.
Please keep us in your prayers as Labron, Caleb and myself leave for vacation this weekend. Brenda will be carrying on with her speaking ministry as we are gone. Pray that God will use her in a mighty way. Thank you all for your prayers and support.
In Christ,
Brooke
