Jessica, Brenda and I headed out to Piedmont, AL late Friday night to teach at a 5th Quarter Lock-in at Trinity Baptist Church. We had approximately 20 people to show up to support this event. The girls had a blast. The teaching was effective and seemed to really open the hearts and the minds of the girl who attended. I believe they were more open to what was going on in their lives than any other lock-in we've been involved with. They shared some issues they were facing and we took it to heart to discuss how to overcome these. They were amazing with their attentiveness!

On a funny note....before we left home we were given strict instructions by Dan that Jessica and I were the boss over Brenda. If you all know Brenda well, then you know that is SO FUNNY! We did laugh at him letting him know that we thought his idea was funny. We did tell her that she had to go to bed early but that didn't happen. She said not to worry about where she would sleep that she could just sleep in the back floorboard of her truck. I told her that wasn't even funny and that I would slap her if she even thought of such again. Of course, I would never do that either, but it got her attention. We took air mattresses and I had this great idea that would calm Dan's mind. I blew the air mattress up and put it in the bed of the truck and made her get up in there and pose for a picture acting like she was asleep then I sent it to Dan. I told him she was sleeping under the stars in the night air. He didn't think it was too funny, so I ended up having to tell him we were just pranking. Check it out on my Facebook. It was great!

We realized that we weren't so young anymore after an hour of sleep and then having to teach the next morning. We all came home and went to bed until the bus had to pull out for Tennessee. We sang Sunday morning for a homecoming in South Pittsburg, TN at Gospel Light Baptist Church. We had a great time with these lovely people.

We are now back in the office working away preparing for the golf tournament and the marriage retreat. It's not too late to sign up for either one. The golf tournament is Friday, October 14th and the marriage retreat is October 21-23. For further information, check out the website.
